A really simple use for a drone is to inspect gutters or the state of repair of a roof. A quick aerial survey can reveal loose slates, leaks or holes in a roof over a large area. Gutters sometimes get blocked in a specific area or they can fill up with pigeon detritus or material which has washed off the roof itself and become stuck. Watch an inspection video here.
